Feeling exhausted before birth and wondering how y Feeling exhausted before birth and wondering how you are supposed to get through labour on empty?

👉 Click the link in my bio to learn more about Getting Ready for Labour Masterclass. 🤰✨

Here is something worth knowing: not all pregnancy exhaustion is just “part of the process.”

Sometimes your body is quietly waving a flag that it needs more support than it is getting right now.

Things like low iron stores, long gaps between meals, blood sugar crashes, restless nights, cramps, and even thyroid changes can all affect how you feel in the lead up to labour.

And when you are already tired and growing a human, it can be
really easy to brush all of that off as normal. 😮‍💨

But feeling constantly wiped out, shaky, dizzy, or unable to get through the day is worth paying attention to.

Because preparing for birth is not only about packing tiny clothes and writing a birth plan.

It is also about making sure you go into labour, breastfeeding and postpartum with your body genuinely supported. More nourishment. More energy. A clearer plan for recovery. 🫶

You deserve to walk into birth feeling as strong and prepared as possible, not just surviving the weeks leading up to it.

Save this for the next time you are stuck under a Save this for the next time you are stuck under a cluster feeding baby with zero snacks within reach. 😅

Cluster feeding days are no joke. Baby wants to feed constantly, you cannot get up, and somehow it is 4pm and you have not eaten a real meal since breakfast. 😮‍💨

And it is not just about hunger. Going too long without food when you are breastfeeding can leave you feeling shaky, foggy, emotional, and completely wiped out. Your body is working incredibly hard and it needs fuel to keep up.

The trick is having snacks nearby that actually do something. Not just fill a gap but genuinely support your energy, recovery and milk production too.

Here is what to keep within arm’s reach:
🥣 Greek yoghurt for protein and calcium
🥜 Trail mix or nuts for healthy fats and minerals
🍫 Muesli or protein bars for quick energy
🧀 Cheese and crackers for an easy carb and protein combo
🥚 Boiled eggs for protein and choline
🍎 Fruit with nut butter for fibre, carbs and staying power

Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just real food you can grab with one hand while baby feeds with the other.

Because feeding yourself is not an afterthought. It is part of taking care of your baby too. 🫶

Tag a mum who always says she is fine. 👇

Breastfeeding has a way of making you say “all good” when you are absolutely, completely far from it.

Maybe you have not eaten a proper meal today.

Maybe you cannot remember which side you last fed from.

Maybe you are Googling cluster feeding at 2am trying not to cry into your water bottle. 😮‍💨

And then someone asks how you are doing and somehow “yeah, fine” just comes out.

Because explaining it all feels like way too much energy when you have none left.

So this is for the mum who is doing her absolute best while also being tired, sore, overwhelmed, hungry, and quietly wondering why something so “natural” can feel this hard.

You do not have to dress it up.

You do not have to have it together.

It is okay to need help. 🤍

Comment BOOTCAMP below and I will send you the details. 💗

Tag a mum who deserves this dance right now. 🕺🕺

This is the win nobody outside of new mum life will ever truly understand. Not a big deal to anyone else. An absolute miracle to you.

Go eat something. Drink your tea while it is still hot. Sit down for five minutes without anyone touching you.

You earned it. 🤍

Struggling with breastfeeding and not sure how muc Struggling with breastfeeding and not sure how much longer you can keep going? Comment BOOTCAMP below and I will send you details on my 3 Day Breastfeeding SOS Bootcamp so you can get real support before you make any decisions. 💗

There is a specific kind of guilt that shows up when breastfeeding starts to feel like too much.

The kind that sits quietly in the back of your mind and makes you question your body, your choices, and whether you have done enough. 😮‍💨

But here is what I want you to know:

A lot of mums who feel like stopping are not actually ready to stop.

They are just exhausted from trying to figure it all out completely alone.
There is a difference. And that difference matters.

Because you deserve support that helps you understand what is actually happening, what can genuinely be improved, and what options are realistic for your family right now.

Whether you continue breastfeeding, move to combination feeding, take a break and restart, or decide that stopping is the right choice for you, that decision deserves to be made with real information and zero shame. 💗

Not guilt.

Not pressure.

Not a Google search at midnight.

Every single feed you have already given your baby has counted.
Your effort was not wasted.

You are still a good mum.

You always were. 🫶

Want support that actually helps you navigate the Want support that actually helps you navigate the real side of breastfeeding? Keep an eye out because my Breastfeeding SOS 3-Day Bootcamp is coming soon and you are not going to want to miss it. 💗

Breastfeeding has a way of making even the most basic tasks feel like a full time admin role with absolutely no lunch break.

You are trying to remember which side baby fed on last.

Drink enough water.

Eat something with actual nutrients.

Manage leaks.

Time the next feed.

Pack spare clothes.

And still somehow look like a person who knows what day it is. 🙃

Meanwhile everyone around you is saying "you are doing amazing" and you are just quietly hoping nobody notices the milk patch on your shirt.

Because that is what breastfeeding actually looks like for so many mums. Not the soft, glowy version. The real one. The one where you are doing something incredibly demanding while also just trying to function as a human being. 🤍

You are doing better than you think, even on the days it does not feel like it. ✨

Tongue ties can be confusing because it is not always as simple as looking in baby’s mouth and knowing what is going on.

Sometimes the bigger clue is what is happening during feeds: ongoing pain, baby slipping on and off, clicking sounds, long feeds, unsettled feeds, or that feeling that feeding is taking everything out of both of you.

And sometimes, tongue tie is not the issue at all. It may be positioning, latch, supply, birth factors, tension, feeding frequency or something else that needs proper support.

That is why you should not have to guess your way through it from Google at 2am. 😅

A good breastfeeding assessment looks at both mum and baby, what is actually happening during feeds, and what support you need next.

If you are about to give birth or breastfeeding an If you are about to give birth or breastfeeding and constantly running on empty, comment MILK below and I will send you details on the Getting Ready for Breastfeeding course straight to your DMs. 💗

Breastfeeding takes a lot out of you. Especially when meals, fluids, and rest keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list because everyone else’s needs come first. 🥣

And while some tiredness is completely expected postpartum, feeling constantly empty and running on nothing is a sign your body needs more support than it is getting.

More food you can actually manage to eat.

More fluids within reach.

More rest where possible.

And a realistic plan that helps you recover while you are feeding your baby.

Because you cannot keep pouring from an empty cup, and nobody should have to figure all of this out alone at 3am. 💛

The Getting Ready for Breastfeeding was created to prepare and support you through breastfeeding, so you have a toolkit at your fingertips when breastfeeding doesn’t go to plan and you don’t know what to do. 🤱

If you want to stop guessing and start feeling supported, comment MILK below and I will send you all the details. 💗
