The newborn stage can feel unpredictable because, honestly, it is.

Your baby is still learning the difference between day and night. Their feeding and sleep needs can change from one day to the next, and the routine that seemed to work yesterday may disappear by this afternoon. 😵‍💫

It can leave you wondering whether you should be following a schedule, waking them for feeds or doing something differently.

In these early weeks, the goal is not to create a perfect routine. It is to start recognising your baby’s cues and building small, flexible rhythms around feeding, sleeping and settling.

And this is exactly why you need your tribe. 🫶

Support might look like someone bringing you a meal, refilling your water, handling the washing or holding baby while you shower and rest. You were never meant to manage feeding, recovery, sleep deprivation and an entire household alone.

Comment ROADMAP and I’ll send you more information about the Postnatal Roadmap, created to support you through feeding, sleep, recovery and the first six months with baby. 🩷

Share this with a mum who understands the postpart Share this with a mum who understands the postpartum “glow” 😂✨

You know the one…
The unwashed hair.
The milk stains.
The leaking.
The constant hunger.
The sore nipples.

The eye bags caused by sleep deprivation. 😵‍💫

Add in the huge hormonal shift from pregnancy to postpartum, and suddenly that soft, serene breastfeeding image you were sold looks very different in real life.

Those early weeks can feel messy, emotional, painful and completely exhausting.

That does not mean you are doing it wrong.

It does not mean you have failed.

It means you are adjusting to feeding a baby while your body recovers and your hormones change dramatically.

The “glow” might look a little more chaotic than expected, but you are still doing an incredible job. 🤍😂

Want nutritious meals built around the key nutrien Want nutritious meals built around the key nutrients you need while breastfeeding? Comment MENU below and I will send you my 3 Day Breastfeeding Menu Plan so you can stop guessing and start nourishing. 🤍

Calcium does so much more than most people realise during pregnancy and breastfeeding. 🦴

During pregnancy it helps your baby develop their bones, teeth, muscles, nerves and heart. Getting enough may also help reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia and premature birth, particularly for mums whose intake is already low.

While breastfeeding, your body works incredibly hard to maintain the calcium levels in your breastmilk. And if you are not getting enough through food, it will draw from your own bone stores to meet your baby’s needs.

That is not a scare tactic. It is just your body doing what it always does, prioritising your baby. Which is exactly why you need to prioritise yourself too. 💗

Calcium-rich foods worth including regularly:

🥛 Milk, yoghurt and cheese
🌿 Calcium-fortified milk alternatives
🐟 Tinned salmon with bones
🫘 Tofu and tahini
🥬 Leafy greens

Simple, everyday foods that do a lot of important work when you eat them consistently.

Breastfeeding may involve one person feeding the baby, but it should still feel like a team effort.

Partner support can look like:
🍽️ Bringing meals, snacks and water
🧺 Taking care of household jobs
👧 Looking after older children
🌙 Bringing the baby over for night feeds and helping settle them
🛁 Changing and bathing the baby without being asked
💆 Offering a back or shoulder rub
📣 Reminding her she is doing an incredible job

You do not need to know everything about breastfeeding. Be present, notice what needs doing and help her feel supported rather than watched or judged and putting more “to-do-lists” on her plate. 🤍

Looking for evidence-based fertility, pregnancy an Looking for evidence-based fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding support without the overwhelm? You are in the right place.

Follow for more. 🩷

I became a fertility, prenatal and breastfeeding dietitian because I saw how overwhelmed, anxious and confused so many mums felt when preparing for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and motherhood.

Especially first-time mums who were being given plenty of information, but no clear roadmap for how to use it. 😵‍💫

I wanted to help women trying to conceive and pregnant mums feel nutritionally prepared for birth and postpartum, understand how to support their bodies and babies, and learn practical breastfeeding skills before they were already exhausted and struggling. 🍽️🥛✨

My biggest why is helping prevent another first-time mum from experiencing birth or breastfeeding trauma without the information and support she needed.

I want mums to feel:
🤍 Informed about their choices
🤰 Prepared for birth and postpartum
🤱 Ready to begin breastfeeding
🥗 Nutritionally supported
✨ Empowered to take an active role in their experience

You deserve evidence-based information that feels practical, clear and supportive, not another list of confusing rules.

Follow for fertility and pregnancy nutrition, postpartum preparation and breastfeeding support that helps you feel ready for what comes next 🩷

When your supply feels lower, suddenly everything looks suspicious…

Was it the three hours of sleep?
Skipping breakfast?
Forgetting to drink water until 2 pm?
The stress about being stressed?
That one coffee? ☕

Or the fact that baby has basically been attached to you all day?

Milk supply can fluctuate for many reasons, and one difficult day does not automatically mean your supply has disappeared.

Before blaming one food, drink or moment, look at the bigger picture, including how often baby is feeding, how effectively milk is being removed, your overall food and fluid intake, illness, medications and hormonal changes.

Share this with a breastfeeding mum who can relate!

When a mum tells me her milk supply has suddenly changed, I do not jump straight to lactation cookies, teas or supplements.

I first look at the basics that can easily get missed when you are feeding around the clock:

🍽️ Are you eating enough across the day, or are meals regularly being skipped?
💧 Are you drinking consistently, or only trying to catch up once you feel exhausted and thirsty?
🤱 How often is your baby feeding, and are they transferring milk effectively during those feeds?
🩸 Have your iron levels been checked recently, especially if you are also feeling unusually tired, weak, dizzy or breathless?
Milk supply can be affected by many factors, so it is important to look at your full feeding picture rather than relying on one food or quick fix.

Let’s Get Latched provides personalised breastfeeding support to help you understand what may be affecting your supply and what to focus on next. 🩷

Cluster feeding can feel relentless, especially when feeds seem to roll into one another all afternoon or evening.

It does not automatically mean you are not making enough milk.

Babies may feed more frequently during growth spurts, developmental changes or when they are helping build your supply. 🥛

Set yourself up with water, easy snacks, the TV remote and everything else you might need within arm’s reach. 💧🍫📺
