Breastfeeding can make hunger and thirst feel much more noticeable, and when you add broken sleep into the mix, it is not always easy to tell what your body is asking for.

A simple place to start: have some water, grab a balanced snack and check in with yourself again.

Think protein + carbs + healthy fats where you can, especially if it has been a while since you last ate. 🥜🍌

Sometimes the answer really is all three: hungry, thirsty and exhausted.

POV: Someone asks what labour feels like… and su POV: Someone asks what labour feels like… and suddenly you have no idea how to describe it without scaring them or
yourself 🤣

Is it pressure?

Is it intensity?

Is it a wave?

Is it a full-body event that deserves its own documentary?

Yes.

All of the above.

The truth is, labour feels different for everyone, and trying to explain it is like trying to describe a colour you’ve never seen. You know it when you experience it… but talking about it is another story entirely 😅

If you’re pregnant and wondering what labour actually feels like, what’s normal, what helps, and what you can do to feel more prepared and less terrified, the Getting Ready for Labour Masterclass breaks it all down in a way that finally makes sense.

Evidence-based, practical, calming… and absolutely zero horror stories 🌿✨

👉 If you want to head into birth feeling informed, grounded, and prepared, grab the Getting Ready for Labour Masterclass!

Start small: drink some water, pick up a balanced snack with protein, carbs, and healthy fats, and pause to breathe. 🥜🍌 More often than not, you are just hungry, thirsty, and bone tired all at once.

“Enjoy every moment” is sweet. But also, which moment exactly?

The one where you are eating toast over the sink because baby wakes the second you sit down? 🍞

The one where you have reheated your tea four times and still have not had a sip?

Or the one where someone asks if baby is “sleeping through yet” and you briefly consider moving to a remote island? 🫠

You can adore your baby and still feel touched out.

You can be grateful and still desperately need a break.

You can know this season is precious and still wish people would stop romanticising the parts that are genuinely, relentlessly hard.

Postpartum mums do not need more pressure to enjoy every second.

They need sleep. Food. Actual help. And someone who can read the room. 😅

You are doing incredibly well, even on the days that feel like anything. 🤍

There is so much nutrition advice thrown at you af There is so much nutrition advice thrown at you after having a baby that it can start to feel like every meal has to be perfectly planned. 🫠

It does not.

You do not need to cut out foods without a reason, force litres of water, rely on special lactation foods or rush to change your body.

What matters more is eating enough, choosing balanced meals and snacks where you can, staying hydrated and giving your body the energy it needs to recover and breastfeed. 🥗

Breastfeeding nutrition should support you, not become another thing to get “right.”

Share this with a breastfeeding mum who needs a little less pressure. 🤍
